The Patch

Its fall y’all! I’m in the south these days, so I’m allowed to say this now. 🙃

I took a day off for my own sanity, and the weather was beautiful, so I drove 20 minutes away and visited my local pumpkin patch.

It was a Thursday, so I can’t complain about the amount of people (very, very few) and the walk to the patch was totally worth it, rather than hitching a ride on the tractor pull. I can’t call it a hayride, since it was more like a carnival train pulled by a tractor. Anywho! The real meat of this story:

The early stages of a pumpkin

I walked around for a bit, saw some attractions (did not participate), and headed out to see where to begin.

Looking sparce…

I saw this little patch, and was a little underwhelmed, mostly because it looks a little barren… then I followed the giant signs stating “Pumpkin Patch” and bam! Game. Changer.

The real deal

This is why I need a +1
The popular spot

After a few-ish minutes of wandering I stumbled upon the beast that was going on my 5k with me. He was glamorous and perfect. Albeit a bit heavy.

The pum-king

I’ll just leave you with a few more pictures before the pro/con list for Temple Hall:

Pros:

  • Pick your own pumpkin
  • Not crowded early afternoon on a weekday
  • Limited interactions
  • Pumpkins!

Cons:

  • $10 entry fee for a pumpkin patch
  • Will get less exciting as more people attend this season
  • Covid-19 rules
  • The road to Temple Hall is narrow and others aren’t always mindful of the road rules

Overall, go and form your own opinion. I quite enjoyed my time. And all you instagrammers, its a goldmine! #fallyall #pumpkinpatch #sweaterweather

Go read ‘Pumpkin Patch Delights’ to see the fate of the pum-king!

Until next time, readers!
