#Hashtag Week One

I have actually…

“You’ve got to get up every morning with determination if you’re going to go to bed with satisfaction.” —George Lorimer

Its me again, readers! I started the week off in such a bleh mood, work was a drag, and life was just not going well. So I scoured the internet (ok, just pinterest) and came up with a week that really turned things around.

Monday

  • #magaritaMonday
  • Maraca cocktail shaker
  • Skinny Girl margarita mix
  • Tequila* (not my liquor of choice, guys… 🤮)
  • Ice (or variety thereof… I used a mango Otterpop)
  • Lime juice
  • Fun fall glass (its fall y’all!)
Shake, shake, shake!
Pour, pour, pour!

I only drank the one, and boy was it needed. It changed my whole outlook on the week ahead! Pretty impressive for a ‘change your mindset’.

After an hour, I got dressed for the gym and went for a long walk while playing solitare on the treadmill. Cranked the pitch to 8 and walked at a 20 minute mile pace. I felt great!

Tuesday

  • #TacoTuesday
  • Tacos
  • On a Tuesday

This is a no-brainer. Everyone knows tacos are best served on a Tuesday! My problem was that it took For-Ev-Er to get out of work and no specialty tacos were open anymore. So I got 2 hardshell, vegetarian tacos from Taco Bell. Not my first or even 3rd choice, but it works… sorta.

If I were going to do this right, Senior Ramon’s Taqueria in Leesburg, VA is the place to go. Specialty tacos, veggie options, cooked to order, deliciousness. These things are so filling you’d only need 2 to fill ya up for the entire (ENTIRE) day.

Wednesday

After the slightly disappointing #TacoTuesday, I needed to redeem myself and the long, long day of dread, so I left earlier than usual, and poured a glass of Gewurztraminer Wine from Germany. Its a little late harvest like in that its sweeter than a reisling, coats your mouth a bit more, and has a fuller body. Still delicious, and it pairs well with poultry and seasonal spices (i.e. Thanksgiving dinner 🦃).

  • #WineWednesday
  • Fun glass
  • Fall wine
  • Patio with Hammock
99 bottles of wine on the shelf…

I overdid it and ended up drinking a red blend after this, so my hangover for Thursday was evident. I made a mistake!

Thursday

  • #ThirstyThursday
  • Drinks that are cheap
  • Drinks that keep flowing
  • Hangover expected
Autumn Harvest Sangria

Well, after the 2 bottles of wine, I wasn’t really feeling #ThirstyThursday so I slowed down a bit and hit Crazy Hour at Parallel Wine and Whiskey Bar in Ashburn, VA. It used to be $3 wine and beer, and now its $4 from 3-5PM. Anyway, I got there, sat at a hightop table, and order the Fall Harvest white sangria. #fallyall

I didn’t go crazy, I only had the one, but it was worth the hour I spent there and was a successful unwind from the week I had.

Friday

I split this into 2. I needed to exercise, and I also needed carbs. Perfect combination.

  • #FitnessFriday
  • Fall leaves
  • A long trail
  • Motivation

I woke up in a terrible mood, so I decided to get outside and see the foliage before it all went away.

Cattails
Running 🏃‍♀️

After the long run/walk through the neighborhood, I swung by BurgerFi in the Village at Leesburg, VA and ordered French fries.

Frites 🍟

Walked around a bit (well, I had to park far away so walking was obviously necessary), and continued the foliage theme throughout the day.

What a beautiful day
  • #FrenchFryFriday
  • French fries
  • On a Friday
  • Anywhere that has unique, delicious fried potatoes

Saturday

  • #SaturdayStyle
  • A hot (haute) look 🔥
  • Go out in public so the world can see you
All black 😍

I spent the day at wineries in Loudoun County, VA with some awesome ladies from my book club and we hit up unique and sunny places: Maggie Malick’s Wine Cave, Forever Farm and Vineyard, and Walsh Family Wines. All were great locations for the sunny, cooler day.

Sunday

This one’s also a bit self-explanatory, #SundayFunday. Usually, it means brunch and mimosas, but I planned a bit ahead and went Chocolate Sculpting at Winery32 in Loudoun County, VA.

I started the morning with a long drive through the county, going south, back to Leesburg, VA, and then north to a couple historic places.

Foggy morning at Mt. Hope Church and Graveyard
Very Colonial
There was an attempt 😅
He melted 😭

And then I went back to Leesburg, VA to check out the new wine bar, Echelon. Truly #sundayfunday

Local reds

That’s the end, readers! Until next time,
