I became a vegetarian in February overnight. I wanted more vegetables in my diet and to see how I would feel. I lost 30 pounds in 4 months and I looked and felt so much healthier!
You don’t have to be so drastic, but a few meatless meals a week, day, or month can do wonders for you! Or at least that’s my personal opinion, and it makes for some good hashtags ๐ค
Tuesday
- Fall Foliage Trail
- Hiking Shoes/Boots
- Hat
- Warm Workout Clothes
- #TrailTuesday
I took a week off to go do fun things in the area and burn some PTO, since I’ve been working so very much (albeit too hard lately) and hit the local portions of the Appalachian Trail. Bears Den Retreat was a perfect quick workout that really brightened my mood and showed me the best parts of Virginia.

The views are outstanding! The overlook is a phenomenal view of the mountainous NoVA.

Wednesday
- Unique Whiskey
- On a Wednesday
- #WhiskeyWednesday
Pretty straightforward actually! I stomped around, saw some local historical areas, and worked up an appetite when I headed to Purcellville, VA for some delicious concoctions at Catoctin Creek Distilling.

There’s a few places like this in the area, all a fascinating glimpse into the First Colony.
Thursday
- Stylish Throw (blanket, pillow, baseball and glove… whatever floats your goat)
- A Photogenic Staging Area
- Backlighting
- #ThursdayThrow

I bought this lovely fall blanket from HomeGoods to bring some color into my rather bland apartment, and I’d say it’s quite the eyecatching block of color.
Weather was cooperative and sunny, and a good location for this quick capture.
Friday
- A Glorious Memory
- On a Friday
- #FlashbackFriday
In 2016, I went to Mickey’s Halloween Party in Disneyland, and it truly was a magical experience. The Most Magical Place in Earth is transformed into something delightful for all the holidays, but Halloween is one of my favorites and it was transformative. ๐

The resort trick-or-treats throughout the entire main park with limited capacity, since it requires a special ticket, separate from your normal park pass.
Please, please, please attend the festivities! Its worth every penny even if you’re not THAT into Disney. (Which you should be, because it’s a great vice. Much better than drugs ๐)
There’s a plethora of informative blogs out there to give you the ins and outs of the event and the park itself. A quick Google search will bring you to the top writers.
Saturday

- Something Sweet
- Something Worth Posting
- #SaturdaySweets
I spent a lot of time out of doors this week and saw some old places that I haven’t been to in quite a while. O drove all over the county to find the perfect hashtag. Old 690 Brewery on the Loudoun County, VA Ale Trail is out in the boonies, off the beaten path, but quite popular on a sunny weekend. Understated, the beer is delicious and so is the sweets ๐

Sunday
#SweaterWeatherSunday requires a cozy sweater, fall weather, and a portrait of you or a loved one.

I finished the week off strong in the hammock and copied up with a book and my Rumpl blanket for a few hours. Mentally preparing for the week ahead.
That’s the end, readers!
Until next time,
-Jessica
