Monday is always a disappointment. That’s why carbs are important. I hit up Panwra Bread and got their seasonal Broccoli and Cheddar Marconi and Cheese. It was as expected – delicious and comforting for the Monday blues. Panera started doing this cool thing where you can order for a ‘group’ with items like this, but its also a week’s worth of dinner for a single white female 😅

On the left is my Dad’s ring he wore daily for almost 25 years. He died January 1, 2020, before the world went crazy. Its one of the only sentimental items I have of his since I’m the youngest of 12 siblings. He had a few like it, but all the pictures I’ve seen of him he wore this and another eagle ring the most.
I bought the earrings for a Halloween costume in 2016 and wear them when I want to look Southwest Chic. They’ve held up nicely the last 4 years.

Life in flight test has be rather uneventful as of late, so I have had to spend a lot of my time in the office with coworkers that I just don’t like very much. Its not all travel and airplanes, I also have to write test plans, PowerPoint presentations, and requirements. This uncharacteristically slow fall, I was in the office this week. Boring, I know. But remember, working on a Wednesday is also #humpday and as of 12 pm in whatever timezone you’re in, the week is closer to over than beginning. Yay!!!
Thursday
- #ThursdayThoughts

This week’s Thursday post was a little difficult to develop a list for. Any thought will do, preferably one that has a good picture to explain or showcase.
#thursdaythoughts: what would it be like to ‘drive’ one of these across the country? Uncomfortable for sure. And you’d have to walk half the time, because it’d be full of all your belongings! I drove across the country, literally, in February 2018, so I know how much it sucks with the modern combustion engine! A different kind of horsepower 🤪
I am a mechanical engineer by degree, and I’ve always appreciated the technology that goes into the modern combustion engine, turbine engine, and linear induction motor. Think of where we would be if we never figured out that technology!

This is by far my favorite local coffee shop. I live around the corner. And by around d the corner, I mean 1.4 miles 😅 I often walk down here to justify the caloric intake of all the coffee drinks I’ll consume. #followfriday and find them on IG! Lots of seasonal favorites bit also some pretty phenomenal staples. #coffee #latte #fallweather #fallfavorites #seasonals #fallyall🍁🍂 #fall #carmelapplelatte #loco #loudouncounty #loudouncountyva #NoVA #northernvirginia #vapiedmont #virginia #va #ashburnva (From Instagram)

Since Halloween was ALSO a Saturday this year, it was quite easy to decide on the hashtag. We went to The Barns at Hamilton Station Vineyards in Hamilton, VA in Loudoun County. We were served wine flights and mulled wine by Freddie Kruger and saw a bunch of other people in costume as well! It was nippy, 55°F but sunny so it was tolerable.
next time youre out and about on any Saturday, feel free to use the hashtag and get engaged on social media. The more you use the hashtags, the more ideas will come your way!

- #SundaySelfie

I woke up this morning ready for a run, but it was raining 🌧 and 46°F outside. So I stayed in, created the wonderful collage you see here from all my selfies I’ve taken this year so far, and finished this week’s blog. Some are great, others? Not so much 😜 but all were from a moment this year when I wasn’t concerned with COVID, or work, or any other distraction that deprecates my own self worth. So when you’re having a rough patch (day, week, hour, moment, year… 2020) make yourself presentable, good looking, and take a selfie.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned this year, its that the hammock and hammock stand on my balcony was the best purchase I’ve made to date. I’ve spent hours in that thing ☺
Until next time, Dear Readers!
