#Hashtag Week 4

“Change your thoughts and you change your world.” – Norman Vincent Peale

Some of you are probably wondering “why are you only posting hashtags? Aren’t you trying to be a lifestyle blog?” Why yes, I am, But I also need to write something every week, because I told myself I would. I haven’t gone anywhere or done anythign worthy of a lifestyle piece since I ran a 5k with a 10 pound pumpkin, so I’m writing a bunch of posts about hashtags you can use everyday to fill the void of being lame.

That said, welcome back Readers!

Chris Pine 😍

I lacked inspiration today, so this is what I decided to post. I sat in my very decked out Star Wars office and contemplated what it would be like to be a part of the LucasFilm universe, especially since 90% of Hollywood has been SOMETHING in the franchise. I feel ya, Chris Pine! I’d much rather be the iconic Millenium Falcon rather than a lame stormtrooper or something. They’re all clones anyway! Seriously though, my office is FULL of Star Wars paraphernalia – paintings of scenes and characters, a Death Star daily calendar, Han Solo frozen in Carbonite phone stand, tie fighters and x wing galore, plus a slew of other stuff that really brings out the nerd in me. (Hence the handle: LeaderOfNerds).

Tuesday

  • Somthing on Trend this Year
  • On a Tuesday
  • Full Length Mirror
  • Clean Bedroom
  • Good Mirror Pose
  • #TrendyTuesday
America Socks 🇺🇸

I planned the week out about 5 weeks ago for the next 6 weeks of available hashtags and we finally got to somewhere that I feel like I’ve been prepping for since January. Trendy Tuesday is a collection of all the fun or cool outfits I’ve donned since January 2020 and will continue to photograph when I clean my room. It also happens to be election day, so I wanted to #Merica it the best I could while also looking professional when its 40°F outside. A few months ago I bought a pair of Spanx faux leather leggings and they are TO DIE FOR as a woman. They fit perfectly, they suck it in where it needs it, and they look FABULOUS. A lot of the pictures I took feature them. You can buy them directly from Spanx here: https://www.spanx.com/leggings/now-trending/faux-leather-leggings

February 27, 2014

The day AFTER Election Day… my quote at the beginning of this post has me thinking I should always look for the bright side of an situation. Today of all days, my thought change is this “if my freedoms are going to get taken away as an American Citizen, id rather they do it quickly, instead of slowly over time. A frog doesn’t know its boiling to death until its already dead.” So by taking away freedoms early and quickly, the American populous might realize they should jump out of the boiling water.

The wayback machine dug up a picture out the airplane window in Feb 2014. This was winter break at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, AZ and I was on my way to a mini vacay in Seattle. I went everywhere – the Boeing factory, the Seattle Zoo, the Troll under the Bridge, Friday Harbor, the Public Market, the Original Starbucks… everywhere! This was 7 days after my 21st birthday too, so I could finally get into all those awesome PNW breweries 😏

The fur babies + actual baby
More Fursday Fur babies!

I don’t own any pets – except a Red Eared Slider (Turtle) named Watson. This is always a hard hashtag to come up with for me. So is Caturday, seeing as how I don’t own a cat either. So, in the spirit of fur babies, here is a collage of my friends’ animals that I ALSO love very, very much. This could also apply if you have a fur coat. Or if you hunt large game like bears. Or if you find random animals outdoors that you can get a decent picture of… Lots of options here apparently!!

Friday

  • A Good Fiction Book
  • Follow a Bunch of Online Book Clubs
  • Its a Friday

Nov 2020 Book Club Pick

Andrew Luck, The Indiannapolis Colts quarterback, has an online book club where he encourages young and old (er) book nerds to join in the conversation on his social media pages. Good Reads has several online book clubs to get ideas or discuss what you’ve read. Instagram has DOZENS of online book clubs to give you ideas. Books enrich your life, in many ways. It increases your critical thinking. It decreases stress hormones. It could help you fall asleep. #FictionFriday is a good place to start as any, so why not hit up your local library, Barnes & Noble, or small, local book shop and pick out a staff recommended fiction book, hmmm? We’re reading this pretty awesome gem for my local book club for November 2020. So far, so SO good!

Saturday

  • Netflix Subscription
  • Interest in Large Felines
  • Time to Burn
  • #Caturday
Tiger!

Since, as stated above, I don’t own any pets, I had to get creative on #Caturday. If you own a cat, throw a party! Have a photoshoot! Take selfies where it swaps your face with your cat’s! Good for you! Or in the words of Mean Girls, You Go Glen Coco! I digress… Pull up Tiger King on Netflix and learn why one of the top 10 Halloween Costumes for 2020 was Carole Baskin and the Tiger King. Or, ya know, just catch up on your pop culture from Quarantine days. Which I did not do (Quarantine). Because I had to work (to pay bills). And because its really not my cup of tea (reality TV is garbage)…

Also, I finally made the connection:

Netflix = Net Flicks = Internet Videos = streaming service. 🤦‍♀️

Only took me For-ev-er. Ughhhh.

Sunday

  • Something You Would Like to Showcase to the World
  • On a Sunday
  • Don’t forget Backlighting!
  • #ShowcaseSunday
Middleburg Christmas Parade

This took a bit to figure out. There is so much out there that deserves a Showcase in this blog, but I chose this actual showcase! Its coming up on the holiday season and people will be out and about doing holiday shopping, getting ready for big dinners, and prepping for down time from that thing that’s required to make money – a job. This is Middleburg, VA, out route 50 away from Washington, DC, and in the middle of Horse Country. This region is actually referred to as Loudoun Hunt Country, where they used to have LARGE hunting parties for the local red fox population. Hence all these dogs and horses. Its one of the classiest Chrsitmas Parades I think I will ever see.

That’s it this week, Dear Readers!

Until Next Time,

@leaderofnerds,

-Jessica
