“Both as an impregnable fortress and as a symbol of the Emperor’s inviolable rule, the deep-space mobile battle station was an achievement on the order of any fashioned by the ancestral species that had unlocked the secret of hyperspace and opened the galaxy to exploration.” Wilhuff Tarkin, in his posthumously published memoir
The first superlaser, installed on the original Death Star, was designed over an extended period beginning before the Clone Wars, finally coming online due to the work of Orson Krennic and Galen Erso. Powered by eight kyber crystals, laser beams generated from these crystals were focused and combined into a single blast (Wookepedia). It was capable of destroying a planet but could be fired at lower power by expending the charge of only a single one of its vast power reactors to devastate an area encompassing roughly 1/8th of a planet’s surface. The recharge time on the reactors was nearly an entire day, limiting how often the weapon could be used. The targeting system was accurate only on the order of several kilometers, which was considered acceptable, since even on low power this would guarantee the destruction of the target due to the size of the blast and at full power would be completely negligible on the scale of an entire planet. So, take this DS-1 (Death Star) Bluetooth speaker here.

Star Wars Death Star design fits perfectly with my obsession for the original trilogy. This speaker includes auxiliary input via cable from your cell phoen headphone jack, so don’t try this with an iPhone…
This speaker lights up when playing music, so it gives you an OUT OF THIS WORLD effect for your house party for one.
Wireless design lets you connect and play your favorite music with ease from nearly anywhere in your house: 30 foot wireless range, so you can wander around, dance around, or fight with lighsabers anywhere your heart desires.
LED indicator changes color when your device is charging or pairing for ease of use. Its also rechargable so batteries are always included!
I’ve created a music playlist for myself, that has nothing to do with Star Wars, but that doesn’t defeat the purpose of this blog post: to showcase my AWESOME new speaker and GEEK out about Star Wars.
Music Playlist:
- I Hope – Gaby Barrett
Because I’m confident Matt never loved me and cheated on me with his wife, or soon to be wife. You don’t need to know Matt, or about him really, you just need to understand the scenario to really get why this song is on my list. - Cinderella Man – Eminem
Because I listened to it on repeat for almost a month while driving back and forth to China Lake summer 2020 and it got stuck in my head. Its also got a sick beat. It brings me back to good times and slower days, while also remembering why I left California – anything above 110 (C) F is not meant for human inhabitance. - Hole in the Bottle – Kelsie Ballerini
Because it sums up my life perfectly and my experiences as of late with Book Club. These ladies can throw back some wine! I can’t remember a book club where there wasn’t mass consumption of the good stuff by only a handful of ladies. - Rap God – Eminem
Because I can listen to it and work my way through writing ANY and EVERY paper or powerpoint at work while also listening to the greatest rapper in the history of the genre. Also, my envy for how fast this guy can drop lyrics – its astounding. I get it might be a midwesterner thing, but still.
Its impressive, even to THIS midwesterner. - Friends in Low Places – Garth Brooks
Because I’m the DGAF Friend in low places. Seriously, its like a superpower – I WILL find the dive bar that serves dirt cheap beer, questionable cocktails, and always plays the best (or worst) music playlists. - Almost Maybes – Jordan Davis
Because I want that type of romance when I find a person worth my time. That is all. - The Good Ones- – Gabby Barrett
Self-explanatory really, but I am a hopeless romantic at heart. - Hide the Wine – Carly Pearce
Because its funny and SO true. Everyone should or does have that ONE person that they can’t seem to shake. And its only compounded by the win. - It don’t Hurt Like it Used to – Billy Currington
Because I can finally not feel angry or sad or dejected about a 6 year relationship just dying with little to no explanation. It really doesn’t hurt like it used to. - One Margarita – Luke Bryan Because YAS!! This should be everyone’s beach and summer anthem! Go listen to it. RIGHT NOW. https://music.amazon.com/albums/B084JB87X7?trackAsin=B084HP4PXP&ref=dm_sh_rbu0CAj2svx2xxcsqOUjifJwP
- Some Girls – Jameson Rodgers Because I’m some of those girls. The crazy or otherwise. I can be a B when it suits me, but I can also be the one who just goes along with anything, it depends on the circumstances.
- Some People Do – Old Dominion Because I want to be forgiven for similar reasons. I am responsible for my own actions like everyone else. I want those others to ask me for forgiveness for the same reasons this song asks for the same.
- Things a Man Oughta Know – Lainey Wilson
Because I am that woman. I can do all those things and I still want a guy who can also do those things and be a decent human. Also 6 ft 3 in Crossfit prince (is that a thing? If not, I just made this up) with nice teeth and little to no temper. But a little jealousy never hurt anyone.
Until next time, Readers!
